When turning your boiler off for the summer should you:
Note: In my case I have a gas boiler with a standard pilot
1. Turn the boiler power switch off and turn the pilot knob to off?
or
2. Turn the boiler power switch off and turn the gas valve off?
I'm wondering which way is better/correct.

Turn the valve off, if you have a damp basement, I wouldn't shut it off unless you have a dehumidifier.0
