and some of you may remember this, Susan Messer came to the Wall and asked us a lot of questions about steam boilers, and what might happen if things went terribly wrong. Susan is a novelist and she was working on a book in which a boiler plays a major role.

Last week, she sent me an advance copy of, <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Grand-River-Joy-Sweetwater-Fiction/dp/0472116991/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1243556056&sr=8-1"target="_blank">Grand River and Joy</a>, which I just finished. This is one of the most extraordinary novels I have ever read. If you love great books, please, please get this one. You will not be sorry.

Thanks, Susan.
Retired and loving it.

    novels and boilers

I've been meaning to come back here and thank everyone who participated in that conversation with me (a year, maybe two ago). Really, finding this place and this savvy group of boiler professionals was one of the high points along my path to publication. I still laugh when I remember the spirit and enthusiasm of your posts. Anyway, Dan has been more than generous in his response to my book, and I'm thrilled about it. If you want to learn more about me and my novel, you can visit my website--http://www.susanmesser.net/

And, yes, it's true that you-all are on the acknowledgment page.

    Warmly, Susan
