leak in boiler

Don't know of any product for "long term" repair. Have used many products for leak stop with good temporary repair but in short, if it's a crack it's toast.
Check your warrantee....10 years on most steamers.

    leak in boiler

Have a Peerless 211A 07 7 section steam boiler, with a small leak coming from the front left of boiler above the burners. Unable to determine at this time if it is a crack in a section or a leaking gasket. Any one had any luck with boiler sealer products like Hercules boiler seal for a long term repair. This is aone pipe system so any left over chemical by-products would end up going through #40 air vents in occupied spaces.

Even welding is a temporary repair. It maybe a tankless gasket, or other leak maybe from a plug or other tapping. The good thing is it is getting warmer so you have time to put in the new boiler before the cold weather.
Cost is what you spend , value is what you get.

Thanks. Boiler is 15 yrs old. Suspecting 2 things 1. not proper swing joints at header and or to much city water into boiler no boiler feed pump.

Improper swing joints will most definitely toast it.
Too much feed water will too, pump or not, if its not monitored.

    peerless repair

that boiler should have gone for 35 yrs before leaking, but luckily the sections should be replaceable. put a watermeter on the fill line, after the repair. is it properly sized for the radiation?--nbc
