I am on a job where there are 4 new high effeciency steam boilers in a row replacing old boilers. The boiler are roughly 5'0" tall. Because of head room, the foreman wants to come off the boilers and 90 down right away and tie into a header below the top of the boiler. I think this is going to cause a flooded header, am I right?

Not only that
but it will cause banging, wet steam and host of other issues.
How much headroom is there above the boilers?

low headroom
why not show the foreman the mfg.'s instruction manual for the installation. has someone forgotten there was a ceiling in this location?
probably larger pipe sizes in the header will be needed, and all the headroom you have. low pressure could compensate for the low header.
is this for 1-pipe or 2?--nbc0
