Hello I did a cleaning last wednesday and the lady called me Saturday saying that her heat kept going out. It turns out that she ran out of oil and put some in they own a construction co. So the went and got some with the pick up truck. I get there sat. and they unit is running. I charged her $50 for call her husband bled it and got it running. I spotted a leak in the seal for the tankless. What ever I said we wouldbe back on mon. I get the word onmon that it keeps shutting down but they keep fxing it. On mon we go in there with a gentalmen who has 25 yrs in the biz and the house is out of oil. We wait 2 hours for oil and when she puts it in the unit fired right up no problem. She calls mon night and says it went out so they hit reset and it fire and worked all night and the next day. To make this a little shorter of a story it seems to run all day nowand shuts down sometime between 5 and 9 two or so days in a row. I went there and pind the barometeric open thinking the draft is pulling the flame off? The baro was not opening when the unit was on I thought that was strainge. any suggestions?

start from scratch.
i suggest you get a qualified technician to evaluate system & start & inspect. too many fingers in this pie.0 -
Could be a failing ignitor. Works when you are there and hit reset, but after a few hours overheats and shuts off. It will then cool down and relight when you get there. We have been noticing that lately with a certain 14k volt ignitor.0 -
I tell callers that if it dies, not to touch it so I can see what happened. If they reset it, I will not bother. I need to see it in it's failed state, and start it from there.

Out Of Oil
I Think You Answered Your Own Question. Most Times When A Homeowner Runs Out A Lot They Have Pluuged Filters Or Pump Screens. Since You Cleaned It A Week Ago Did You Check The Pump Screen???0 -
What burner....
....is it? Beckett had an issue with some of their "clean cut" pumps where the solenoid would not always hold the valve open. I had one a year or so ago that drove me abso-freaking-lutely nuts until our good friend Alan Mercurio clued me in about the defect. Installed the new solenoid coil and it has worked like a champ ever since.0 -
No I have not I dont Know if I will get in again. She said she was going to get a second opinion today. I am going to call he today.0
