Rheem Solaraide Tank

I aquired a Rheem Solaraide Electric Hot water heater Model 668H-82-1. Very little use. I hope to play around with some solar preheat for my indirect. Does anyone have any info on this tank, specs, excahnger etc. or install manuals? I checked some sites and found newer similar models. Thanks Mike

    May be an old number

the 80 HE is a tank with an external wrap around, copper heat exchanger. It has been a very popular solar tank over the years. The HX coil does not get scaled on the outside, but it does have a small performance hit, compared to internal coil tanks. They are usually priced well, also.

Yours may be just an electric tank without the heat exchanger?

Do you see coil connections anywhere? How old is the tank, over 10 years it may not be worth re-installing. Depends on it's former life.

Rheem dealers or reps should be able to id it with model and serial #, maybe even build date.
