Flexible pipe connection

have a product, or can they recommend one? I have seen braided stainless steel hose used on those and also hydraulic applications, but O2 ingress would be a concern.

A local contractor used a auto parts store MPH (multi purpose hose) heater hose, on a school project once. It didn't work out so well! They did replace them with a braided product of some sort.

    Flexible pipe connection

I am plumbing a geothermal unit into a radiant floor heating system. The geothermal guy says to expect movement in the unit and suggests having a flexible connection. On the pipes that are too large for Pex what should I use? I've thought about high pressure rubber hose, but still trying to find out compatiblity with glycol and oxygen barrier qualities. Any ideas?

    Metraflex

Has a wide variety of options for flex connectors. They are often spec'd for commercial projects

    Hose attachments

After reading this thread I am wondering about O2 barrier. I have used both the braded connectors and rubber hoses and it never occured to me that I should think about an O2 barrier. I just asked my geo designer and he thought an air elminator would work if it does not have an O2 barrier, but I have first hand saw what non O2 barrier tubing can do to a radiant system. Does rubber permit air transfer? I think so because I have to pump up my bike tires often to maintain pressure....just some thoughts.
    What are your thoughts.

    I don't hear of

corrosion issue with ground source equipment like we do with hydronics. I know temperature plays a large role in O2 ingress, perhaps that is a big part of it?

An air separator, even a great one, will not remove the O2 molecule.

Chemicals are another way the scavenge O2 but need checking and boosting.

In theory an aluminum layer in a rubber or EPDM hose should be a 100% O2 barrier. But...

Maybe a pex/ aluminum tube would be enough flex? Viega FostaPex has the best of all worlds in that respect.
