recurculating pumps

I have a gas fired boiler, currently the recurculation pump is on the return side, i have been told that the system will operate better if the pump is on the feed side, is this true, and is there any other changes that need to be made for this to work?

Why does a hydronic system have a circulating loop but a domestic loop have a recirculating loop?

I was told to pump from highest volumne of water to lowest

volume of water check the spec's of the manufacturer where they want the pumps
