Roth Manifolds

The old ones were in CUBIC METERS.. but that is probably not the case here.

The new manifolds have printed on the BOX "0.02-1.5 gallons per minutes" but the ACTUAL METERS read 0 - 0.5 - 1.0 - 1.5 GALLONS PER MINUTE.

  • I'm hearing that their flow meters go down to a wildly crazy low level of 0.02 GPM.

has anyone used them? do they seem accurate at very low flow rates?
  • .2

but whats in a zero :-)

  • is it? I had a source confirm it who had one on his desk.. and I was pushing hard to confirm that...

  • that is really unfortunate.

Having flow meters somewhat accurate to such low flows would allow for some seriously aggressive flow balancing..
  • but you have to realize...

that a $2 add on manifold meter is not near as accurate as a real high quality flow meter. The meters on manifolds are better then what we use to have (nothing).

But as Crusty the Clown says "It's not just good, it's good enough"

  • of course, thus the "somewhat accurate" descriptor. if it can register changes of flow on a small level, a little fiddling could do some good things. Edit: but it doesn't have to do it perfectly. just decently.

  • thanks again steve. turns out my original source was not as sure as he seemed to think he was and you were totally correct.

I thought it was a bit too good to be true... sigh.

Ultra low flow meters. Try Dwyer.

I was just looking for some really low flow flowmeters for gasses, and I found Dwyer Instruments RM and RMK series. They offer them for water and gasses in all sorts of flow rates. Dig around their site and they offer quite a variety of cool things.

I am not associated with Dwyer in any way.

  • but still......

the flow meters we have on any of the manifolds are still better then what we had 10 years go :-)

and you're welcome. you know I pretty mch always get the source !

next tuesday will you be near the harbor?

    steve

  • I hope so!

is it a grown up gathering or kid-friendly? (14 mos)
  • of course it's family fun!!!!

    bring them all! http://www.boothbayharbor.com/windjammers.htm

    Dwyer flow meters

    Larry,

I also am not associated with Dwyer. However, I have found their flow meters to work well.

I made the set up in the attachment.

I use it for measuring gas and/or air flow.

The meters measure air; however, the conversion equations are available on the Dwyer web site.
