is similar to Tn4 and that hasn't been out for 20 years.I prefer the AQ as do many others, that's why Baskin-Robbins has 32 flavors!

    Honeywell AQ2000

Any feedback on this controls system?

It appears to be an advancement over what is out there, and has a setback feature for the boiler that I was looking for earlier.

Available from Grainger and other sources.

    Have One

Installed with my new system last year and am very happy with it. I have the AQ1000TP2 programmable T stats as well.

Let me know if you have any questions.

I used one when they first came out for the simple reason that it had contacts for system pump which I needed besides zone pump relays.

    Nice unit

There's a new variation coming shortly that will use regular T'stats. You lose a little functionality but makes tit easier to apply on more jobs

  • not sure why it's an advancement over "what is out there". I'm sure it's fine, but it's not doing anything tekmar hasn't done for almost twenty years.

If you want to set back a system just from the boiler, that's trickier. but if you are looking to put in an entire control system for the whole house, the the honeywell controls, or tekmar controls can certainly do that.

  • 371 boiler controls could do this 20 years ago, long before Tn4. the move to digital was great for a lot of stuff, but the basics of indoor/outdoor reset, sync, and setbacks has been long established. the rest are management and parameter setting/diagnostic improvements, primarily.

nothing against AQ2000: just that this is not some new cutting edge tech that has never existed before, that's all. Honeywell has gone from nothing to a serious contender in the residential control market in a fairly short time as far as i can see. many kudos to them for that.
