loss of gas pressure

Not sure if this question is for you, I have a gas boiler that works perfectly (as far as I know), but when the boiler runs I lose gas pressure at the stove(flame gets smaller). I'm wondering if this is normal or if I should call a plumber? I don't know if this helps but the gas line coming in is 1" and after the boiler drops down to 3/4". Sometimes when I'm cooking it drops down so noticeably that the water stops boiling in a pot.

Get in touch with
your gas provider. Is this natural or LP gas? There could be a number of things wrong such as too long a pipe run, undersized piping, wrong size meter if natural gas etc. What is the BTU rating of the boiler and is the range a regular range or is it a commercial one?0 -
Not NOrmal --as already stated you do not have enough gas to the house to support all appliances -- it can be a supplier issue or a plumbing issue ---0 -
Thanks for the quick response. The boiler is a weil mclain cgs 5 133,500 btu boiler supplied by natural gas. Range is a standard residential model.0 -
Also just looked at meter, it says 5 psi and 250 cph. Entire length of piping in house is under 50 ft.0 -
DID IT EVER WORK CORRECTLY ?
COULD BE A BAD REGULATOR OR METER . CALL THE UTILITY FIRST. if you call the plumber you will have to pay for diagnostic call even if it a utility issue.0 -
Defintely get in touch with
your local natural gas provider to check things out. Then if you need a plumber they will let you know.0 -
Thankyou everyone, I will call the gas company and keep you all posted.0
