It's a scam - apparently a very successful one...

    Fitch Fuel Catalyst

Has anyone out there heard of the Fitch Fuel Catalyst? I recently had one installed on a Mills 250 with a Reillo Burner. The nozzle was downsized after the Fitch Fuel Catalyst was installed from a 2.25 GPH to 2.00 GPH and maintained the same stack temperature as before.

I'd like to know if anyone else has heard of these kind of results.

    Thank You....JP

    Dear Iwanttobelieve

I've seen this work in over a dozen applications in Bangor, Maine, installed by seasoned professionals. They have optomized each system prior to installing the Fitch Fuel Catalyst and after installation...shake their heads. They have in each instance, with the catalyst, getting the same stack temperature downsizing the nozzle while eliminating a high degree of particulate. Initially, techs in every instance didn't think it would work and once they saw the results of their work that the catalyst does create a hotter fire thus neccessitating a smaller nozzle size...same heat-less oil. It's been around for 17 years in marine engine applications. Got UL approval this past September. If it's a scam...why am I saving money? And I agree with you... It's hard to BELIEVE until you've seen the water turned into wine...Regards JP

"optomized each system prior to installing the Fitch Fuel Catalyst "

Why install it at all??!!! Why not just optimize???

I happened to be reading about the above mentioned item and linked to this site:

More about vehicles but the idea is the same.

    Optomize

Maine Ken...If the boiler is optomized, cooking along as efficiently as possible and you then add the Fitch Fuel Catalyst into the fuel line next to the pump... depending on the furnace/gun harmony...you'll see a 25 to 90 degree increase in stack temperature.

Depending on the increase in stack temperature dictates the level of downsizing the nozzle to reach the original stack temperature.

Glad to send you 60-70 positive results. We've worked with Seimans Controls who installed 2 catalysts at North Yarmouth Middle School...it's kickin butt big time...downsized nozzle 18%.

Willing to send you more info if you'd like...Regards...JP

If John Fitch lent his name to this product, then it can't be a scam. The man is a legend!

He recently attempted to set a record at Bonneville at 87 years of age.

    Truly amazing,

    Read....

cut and paste the links! John Fitch isn't a celebrity as in Hollywood.

He is a world renowned driver and inventor of many safety devices we take for granted today.

A gentleman of the highest degree.

Not one to hide behind a fake email address.

I'm well aware of John Fitch's career as a driver and designer. When I realized he was associated with this fuel saver BS it was disappointing. He's obviously a very talented guy. However, his racing background has zero relevance to the question of whether or not the product works. Seems very similar to this guy: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peter_Brock

There does seem to be some legitimate data showing that the catalyst inhibits bacterial growth in fuel - so there may well be some legitimate applications for it - not my area of expertise. However, the fuel consumption claims made on the website are simply ludicrous and detract from any actual benefits the product might have.

I have been servicing oil heating equipment in CT for 21 years and have never seen one installed. I watched the video and they showed an oil burner and a GAS burner running. UL listing has nothing to do with saving fuel only with safety of a manufactured product. My final question would be What burnner manufacturer includes them with a new unit? For now my money stays firmly in my wallet..Not with Billy Mays

    Bingo...

This was in my mailbox this morning:

    "Dear Caveat Emptor:

You are absolutely correct...and if it were not for the success we're having ( I'll humbly share any and all of it with you ) I would not be here playing with people who know a hell of lot more about this profession than I do.

So, please feel free to engage me on the layman's level...the Fitch Fuel Catalyst really works and does it's job splendidly.

    Regards,

    JP"
