Faulty Varivalve Radiator Valve

i recommend you buy a copy of "the lost art of steam heating" from this site. it will explain better than i, the causes of "wet steam", and will describe some remedies.
i suspect that you need new main vents, on the pipes next to the boiler, and don't throw the old vents away as you may need them back on the rads, when you have finished with the main vent corrections.--nbc

Faulty Varivalve Radiator Valve?
We recently moved into a house with a converted coal-to-oil boiler and steam radiators. We changed all the air vents on the radiators to Varivalve air vents, and it has helped balance the heat a little. But we notice that on varivalve vent has spit quite a bit of water (nearly a quarter cup) once. Lately, as the weather has gotten warmer, and the boiler fires less frequently, this same radiator is giving off very little heat. Is it likely that the varivalve air vent is faulty? Or is it something more fundamental? Thanks in advance for any advice you might have.0
