a residential design using chilled water. The benefit would be no duct work and individual zones. Does anyone have a product that they use for termanal fan units for both heat and chilled water they would recommend? Thanks for any input WW

    chilled water

WW we had a residential account that had a single pipe system it used Magic Aire fan coils if I remember right the orginal HO was a engineer and he did all the design work. The condenser was a 5ton with about 35 feet tubing run to a evaporator barrel and a B&G cir pump there was a switching box for summer winter operation did a real nice job keeping the house comfortable. jon

    chilled/heated water duct free unit

Wayco Wayne, we've used Multiaqua. Though support has been a bit thin, it's a neat niche product: http://www.multiaqua.com/

We had a terrible experience with Multiaqua chillers. We have two three ton in series to run AC with our high velocity system. Unico used them and put there stickers on them, I think unico has there own now. But we had bad solder joints on the stainless flat plates that broke after pressure testing the system, bent copper piping to connect which made for a sloppy looking install, but we wernt forcing them straight. No support either. Luckliy the manfacturer's rep coverd the cost of the repairs (which we performed) out of there own pocket. The sheet metal they are wrapped in wre junk as well. Other than that they actually work great. Havent used them since, would have to seriously consider using one again.

    Multiaqua

FYI Unico makes there own chillers. Multiaqua has not built them for Unico in nearly a decade. The "junk" you experienced was at the hands of Unico, not Multiaqua. I've used both Unico and Multiaqua chillers and have seen far better quality in the Multiaqua's.
