Indoor reset vs Outdoor reset?

I attended a Trio boiler seminar recently and they were talking about their prepackaged efficiency controls that come w/ their 3 pass oil fired boilers. It's basically aHeat Manager type control which looks at supply temp and temp loss vs burner run time. They claim this is a better way to go vs outdoor reset. I've installed both but was wondering what others thought. The trio looks like a good design w/ a riello and DV models available. This is sold by FW Webb.

anything that allows the boiler to not fire if it's hot enough is probably a good thing.
reading "current load" has advantages. I'm not familiar with this tech, but if you are looking at supply and return temps, you should be able to gauge the current load conditions, if you are given a baseline (i.e., 100% run time equals water temp of 180 or something).
if you are not setting parameters though, i'd be wary.0
