but while the boiler is opened up, it should be thoroughly brushed out from the firebox as well as the top cleanouts. This is much easier to do when the chamber is out.

I just found out that the Chamber in my boiler needs to be replaced. Whats the cost for that...about? Its a Weil Mclain for Steam heat. Thanks

This must be Weil Mclain Thursday. I think the question is more about labor. What model do you have? They have chamber kits, and usually 1-2 hours labor is average. As far as price, much cheaper than boiler replacement if you look at it that way. I'm guessing an oil fired boiler? If so, there could have been sone blast tube/endcone damage as the front wall is more critical than the target wall. This will add to the cost if so. Was there a quoted price? I'd only comment on what price you post. peace0
