I have a MM series 67 LWCO 15Years old and the float & switch have to be replaced. Question should I replace the whole unit, body and all, or just clean out the old body and replace just the float switch unit. What do you pros normally do. Thanks James

Tough question,
MM recommends replacement every 10 years, myself I have stretched that.
The housing is CI, so if it appears clean(little scraping), and the cost of the replacement float & switch still seems attractive to you, then I would risk-it.
Assuming its low pressure of course.

After 15 years put it to rest
"M/M recommends replacement every 10 years" it's called Liability. Do you want to be responsible if something goes wrong, not me, been to court twice in 20 years and won both times because I did the right thing. Didn't even tell insurance company until after the fact because I didn't want them to settle because it would be cheaper for them, but not me. For the difference in price I would replace it.0 -
Lose it, the cost of MM parts will not be that far off replacing
it. Plus it is a safety device that is quite critical.. Tim0 -
go brand new
i have had at least one defective replacement switch. why take a chance. go electronic if possible0
