What is the reasoning behind pressurizing (with air ) The top of a standard (non-bladder type) Expansion tank ? Any help is greatly appreciated !!!!!!!!!!!!

Not sure why.......
..... anyone would even consider that. The tank makes it's own cushion of air as it's filled. Once the air is in there, and provided the tank is piped to the system correctly, the air will never leave the tank. If there is a waterlogged tank issue, it's because the tank hasn't been piped correctly and the thermal circulation associated with it.0 -
Whoever told you that
was confusing a heating system expansion tank with a well-pump system expansion tank.
