Honeywell & Beer

I have a job at a brewpub; the brewmaster uses a steam boiler for making his beer and the relief valve is popping off regularly, filling the boiler room with steam. The operating pressuretrol is a Honeywell P7810A 1004 and I suspect it's faulty (it's set at 12 psi with a 2 degree differential, subtractive I presume so it's supposed to bounce between 10 and 12) and the relief valve is set at 15 psi.
Soooooooo.....the pressuretrol is not your normal one that you see on steam heating systems; it's got line voltage going to it. I'd like to know what to replace it with, i.e. are these still made? If not, what replaces them.
TIA

Have you
checked to see if the pigtail under the pressuretrol is clogged?

Thanks, guys
Yes, that's the information I'm looking for, Alan; thanks a lot.
And Steamhead: no, I did not check the pigtail, but that makes sense that it could be clogged. I'll check it and will probably change out the pressuretrol anyway.
All the best,
Alan0 -
and..
what about the beer?? is it any good?0 -
Oh, yeah
My favorite is called Wamber; 7.2% alcohol so I can't drink very much, but it's extremely tasty.

pressuretrol
And I hope you have a secondary hi limit pressuretrol.....that boiler should have one!!!0 -
Yes, it does
Al. It's been tripping. I think I'll replace it as well as the relief valve, just to cover all the bases and make sure nobody gets hurt and there aren't any nuisance call-backs.
Thanks for the check list.0 -
this is one of
This is one of the job you wished to get call back for "lost" tools to get another pint!0
