Is there an oil furnace/ac combination that has a 16 SEER to qualify for the energy tax credit? Mike

16 SEER
There are many air conditioning equipment manufacturers that have air conditioning equipment rated at 16 SEER and up. These include Carrier, Trane, Lennox and even Amana. You would have to purchase the unit with a cased "A -coil" to fit on top of the furnace of your choice. Furnaces do not have SEER ratings, so you will have to install the cooling coil as an add-on. To the best of my knowledge, as long as the AC equipment is 16+ SEER, you should be okay.0 -
Hi professor
Most system has to have the variable speed blower in order to get the rated seer.
I know trane has a oil furnace with variable speed.I think thermopride does as well. They have no choice if they want to get the rating.
Hope all is well.0 -
One thing
If the building needs anything in the half ton range (1.5, 2.5, or 3.5 tons), your'e out of luck. almost anything over 15 SEER is pretty much available in full tonngae ranges.
