Small water meter?

someone else has another solution, I looked into this a while back and the only thing I could find was a regular old water meter like you would put on a house.

  • Soon I`ll have to drain a 72 room hotel as the owner wants the hydronic system flushed with cleaner.
Since Rhomar has a quantity mix with the water medium, is there a reliable meter I could temporarily install on the drain hose to come close to the system content?

    The problem with water meters

is that most of those off shelf meters for residential use only register in the thousand gallon range, or the hundreds of cubic feet units.

A laboratory grade meter has individual gallons registers, and runs about $50.00, but accuracy is + or - 1-1/2%. http://www.jerman.com/dljmeter.html

The option would be to have a couple of 55 gallon drums on hand, and alternate and record the number of gallons going through the drums.

Be sure and rinse the meter real well when you are done so the oxides don't lock the turbine up...

    This small meter

is what you see on some of the small BTU meters. It reads down to .13 GPM. I use it for finding small radiant leaks, and determining system capacity.
