low returns to new boiler

I think I know the answer but want to throw this to you guys to confirm. The boiler was replaced 3 years ago not by me. The new systems near boiler piping is a mess but I know that. What I am trying to figure is how to raise the water levels in the former wet returns. when the new boiler went in the far returns are now above the water line. I plan on causing a false water line by coming into the boiler room and jumping up before dropping to the return inlet at the Hartford loop. I will make sure the return is vented well so it does not siphon dry. But short of drawing pictures am I on the right track. I would prefer this to busting concrete or running 12 individual returns back to the boiler room so I can join them below the water line. The boiler room is 2 feet below the cellar floor and the boiler is a foot below the boiler room floor. No I do not have pics right now.

Thanks Guys for your input.
Charlie
