becket heat manager/w setback thermostat

I got a Beckett heat manager for a rental unit and installed a set back thermostat. It will hold that temp if given enough time but doesn't seem to work when you hit the overide button on the thermostat. The circulator starts up but the burner doesn't come on for a long time (>an hour) My heating guys (who doesn't seem to like the heat managers) said he called Beckett and according to him said that they don't work with set back thermostats. I never saw this in any of their literature. Anyone know if this is really true?

you must
not have it hooked up correctly.
It shouldn't have anything to do with the thermostat.
It interrupts the burner. I have a setback thermostat and it works fine.
