one-pipe steam radiator valve for small space

[I apologize if this was answered elsewhere].

I'd like to install a valve with a thermostat on a bedroom radiator. There is a small, adjustable air vent there now.

Elsewhere I can use either the Macon (http://www.maconcontrols.com/pdfs/OPSK1204.pdf) or the Danfoss (http://na.heating.danfoss.com/PCMPDF/RA2000%201PS-DS.pdf) valves, but in this case, the space between the edge of the radiator and the wall is only around 3 inches. In comparison, the Macon is about 6 inches in length, and the Danfoss is about 5.

Are there any do-it-yourself options for thermostatic valves in tight spaces?

Thanks!
Dave.

    Look at Danfoss

    Dave:

Look at the Danfoss data sheet. You will see the following part:

013L8300 which is a 45 elbow. Use 2 of them and that should help.

It's on the 1st page from your link.
