I have one rousta bout fitting that is leaking..a 90* elbo ever since I drained a large system. 3" pipe. Do these seal up like the others did or does it need to be changed? Are the 90's the same gasket as the couplings?
Thanks as always, Tim

groove or no-groove { bogus }
HEY TIM , is that a victaulic type fitting but grooveless ? if so be aware if that baby blows , its lawsuit time. one blew on my friend at a&s dept. store in nyc. not good. if no other way use riser clamps & rod it. IN ANY CASE DOUBT IF IT WOULD SEAL UP. GASKET MUST BE BAD.0 -
The 90 has grooves, but not the couplings. There are like 3 or 4 coups on one run (2 on each side of the 90) from the pump to the boiler. (inherited mess that is now my account) All the ftgs leaked, some really bad, but all sealed up when the pressure got back to 60lbs except the one side of the 90.

If it.......
continues to leak I think the gasket must be replaced. I would be very careful and make sure to follow manufacturers guidelines for reusing a plain end coupling.
Also make sure they are approved for use with grooved fittings.
