Automatic water feeder

The feeder may or may not still be good, thats a question you need to ask your plumber. it could be clogged up, it could have crud in it and not seating properly(leaking by and overfilling the boiler), or it could be fine but the plumber doesn't want to take any chances and wants to repipe everything. This way he KNOWS that it all works properly. I am not familiar with the hydrolevel vtx, we use mcdonnell miller feeders so soemone else will have to chime in as to how good these are.

Automatic Water Feeder
Plumber came in with pricing for re-piping boiler, harford loop, skim valve and plug. 3200.00 they also want to install existing water feeder (mcdonald ?) with Hydrolevel VXT automatic water feeder 575.00. I feed existing water feeder is okay is this necessary, is this type very good. Should I go with this or wait until existing water feeder goes. I have had the existing water feeder about 10 years0
