Ultra sounds like it needs a muffler

OK this might be like a shoemaker working on his own shoes.

AS I am digging up the boiler manual and control supplement for my own Ultra 80, series 2, Weil-Mclain boiler.

Has anyone experienced a loud rumbling from these boilers. It sounds like a car with a bad muffler parked next to my house. When I caught the sound last night, it was on the end of the cycle, so I am thinking on the post purge.

As I finish my Sunday morning coffee, put new batteries in my com. analyzer, and grab my hand tools, I was hoping one of you guys may have seen (heard) this before.

    The 2 series has gas valve groan noise upon startup, mostly in Propane but also in NG, lasted 5-10 secs. Usually can be taken out with a gas valve adjustment

    Check you air intake for leaves or debris
