Thermostats only when the AQ is controlling the zones

When using the new honeywell relays, like the aq2514b4 do we have to us use the aq1000t stat or can any stat be used?0 -
I just installed...
..my first AQ251 a couple weeks ago. This was a single zone (whole house) application, so I used the AQ2510B0 (I think that was the number - don't have time to look it up right now) as an ODR only control.
I wired the AQ1000 stat to it, 'cuz that's what my distributor told me to use, and it didn't work. Called HWell tech support, and was informed that the AQ1000 is only used if you are using the zoning module.0
