    Cool, Paul

Did you ever run at The Glen? The thing about '02's is that BMW is still producing all the parts and they, as you know, are a great car. The tii's are starting to get up there $wise, but a straight can still be had for short money.

My turbo is a pretty special car. In fact, to special for me. I'm going to turn it. I want something I can drive and not have to worry about. The turbo I have to worry about. Anyone have Jay Leno's number?

    My Baby...

is a 2008 Ford Focus 2-door Coupe (the new style). I absolutely LOVE it...up to 38 on the highway, between 34 and 36 in the city...

My favorite car, though, was an '89 Tercel. If I drove it for too long it would get "tired" and choke out when I'd let off the gas, but I LOVED that car. Great gas mileage, tiny, low to the ground, amazing sound system.

Sold it to a 6'5" punk down the street who totalled it the first weekend out.

I'm an mx guy from the 80's.. still can turn the throttle if ya know what I mean.

What's it like riding that beast? Does it slide at all? Tip over if you think about it? In other words, can you hang corners or do you have to slow down and let the Trail Association Wives Club pass you?

Just currious, looks like a blast. How about straight line acceleration?

    To be perfectly honest...

I don't know. That's not really my machine. It was parked outside the Green Mountain Inn in Heeney Colorado. I suspect it is slower than a snail, but powerful as an ox. Those tracks CAN'T possibly turn as fast as a wheel can.

My other vehicle is a Ford Bronco, vintage 1990, with a 22 foot pontoon boat (Fishical Therapy) on the hitch.

There, I came clean. I feel better :-)

    Sorry to disappoint ;-(

FWIW, the part about my other car not getting good milage, that part is TRUE :-)

There was an error rendering this rich post.

    all work and no play

I drive a Ford E-350 with a Reading Low Pro utility body, which I love. The Ford only gets 9 mpg, which is terrible but it is a great work truck. It is also my car, which saves me about $600/ month on payments and insurance. This truck is narrow enough for driveways, short enough for drive-thrus even with ladders, can carry a woodstove or boiler, and is a rolling workshop/ hardware store.

On the rare occasion I need just a car and my wife isn't using hers, I drive her Mercedes ML 350. Best driving vehicle I've ever driven. It has the perfect balance of powerm, weight distribution, handling, visibility and comfort of any thing I ever sat in including several Mercedes, Lexus, Beemer, Volvo, etc. sedans. If Ed McMahon knocked on my door tomorrow, this is what I would buy for me. However, since my wife loves to drive, I get to snooze in the passengers seat and she is always the designated driver so I can have three drinks instead of two at parties.
  • I traded this in

for the Challenger . I was looking at brand new 6 cylinder Chargers , till I took this used RT for a ride . I haven't had that feeing of true , throw you into your seat speed since the early 90s :)

Bob , the 69 was a beaut . My sister's ex boyfriend had a 69 Super Bee 440 6 pack . We always talked about a race , but my 71 Challenger with a farty 318 was more suited to go up against a K car . But the 71 LeMans convertible I bought after this car , with the 350 engine and tranny I had rebuilt ........ that woulda been a race . I gotta look for pics of these cars . It's been a long time since I thought about those days :)

Chris , I still got the shaggin wagon . I've been a custom van man since 97 . And I guess I'll be stuck with it till the wheels fall off . Trade in value for my baby is zilch .

Got to save fuel. Also tired of pulling the big rigs out of the mud and ditches. Here are my work and play rides.
