Pipe connector question

sawzall surgery in a house downtown that has the old gravity pipes the likes of which that have left many an imprint on my forehead. The homeowner is finishing the basment and I like to replace the pipes with a manifold and pex runs so they can get mo better clearance for the ceiling. I have one problem run though, where two 1.25 black pipes run all the way from the second floor and don't hit a threaded fitting joint until they are below the floor joists. We want to connect up in the floor joist space. It would be hard to thread the pipe in place up in the joist space. Is there any kind of compression adaptor that could do the job. Thanks for any ideas. WW

look at Gruvlok # 7100 series "sock-it " fittings. I would call the factory to check on the temp. rating of the epdm gasket . by memory the rating should be about 230 degrees.

why not open pocket in wall & cut the line at the floor above ceiling & make thread w/ 700. dresser cplg. great for emergency repair but can loosen & leak . maybe style w/ three bolts would work but i would not gamble. let home owner make final decision to c.y.a.
