Thanks mike and hot rod i have been tinker with the idea if for anyone but myself since i do heat loses where and when no one does them the past 3 or 4 jobs i have done for my buddies i have done heat loses on and gone with at least 30 to 50 % smaller units and every body been wondering but alot of the older system that where installed came out to be between 35 to 60 btu per ft when they only need some thing like 25 to 30 pretty funny but i fiqure that at least if others won't help improve at least i'm doing my part to install the correct sized equipment and save HO money and the save on wasted energy .Thanks for all you input ,your post of your work always inspires me to do better and always go for functional ,ease of service and the straight and square work of days of old some thing i find hard to locate on a daily base .peace and good luck clammy

    I'm Getting close to a purchase and wondering what software programs most are using for residental and light commerical hydronics some thing with pump sizing and pipe resistence ,sizing and differnt system type input like radiant, panel heaters ,mono flow cast rads baseand different watertemps any usefull help in choices would be helpfull always looking to learn new ways and approaches and the software to prove it works before the job is done peace and good luck clammy

    SYstem syzer calculator. Nice program, but your question is multifaceted. Much info needs to be plugged in to determine what is required. Commercial is diff. than res, the usual R value in the structure is diff. etc... For res., I use R-"J" for the gain/loss and then I would go to B&G for the dynamics on sizing, what pump is needed, what line size is required etc. That's why I stated that the Q: was multifaceted.
