Hi all,
I am currently checking homes for sale via internet in Santa Fe area. They are all on slab naturally. Many have radiant which is great but were built in the late 70's. I can't seem to recall when the newer tubing systems came into use. The materials that addressed the air issues etc, that were the scourge of the industry for many years. I am assuming of course that they are plastic and not copper.
Should I ever get out to physically visit these homes is there a way I can tell what kind of plastic was used if it in fact is? I am guessing it has to be marked every few feet.
Thanks

I'm assuming that is Santa Fe N.M.
The majority of non oxygen barrier tubing in N.M. was installed pre 1994 to 1995, the easiest way to identify the tubing would be through the manifolds above grade. Unfortunately with these types of systems the manifolds were usually barried in the walls making it hard to find them. Although some do have access to the manifolds. You've picked a great place to find a home.

I'd guess PB
or even polypro well pipe tube. PB was generally grey. Vanguard, Qest, maybe Infloor.
Thin walled, seldom O2 barrier, but in all honesty the tube itself seems to be standing to the test of time. Fittings were the downfall.
Still a lot of PB used in Europe and the UK if I am not mistaken.
hot rod
