Hydronic coil tube split
It has been a while since I looked at a fan coil unit, but never saw this. THere is a split in the copper line. This coil is on the third floor of a condominium, and the second coil to do this. Serial numbers are not close so the manufacturing process should not be the problem (I am looking at this). Has anyone notice water hammer causing a problem on a coil like this, the test rating of the coil is 450 psi and the actual rating of the tubing is 2250 psi. there is a pump with a burst rating far less, and a check valve on it with a bursti ratng of 120psi.0 -
Water or Steam???? I am assuming it's water. Why a check valve?? Could you be trapping water between the check valve and a closed control valve causing a hydraulic problem??????

These froze in spring,
warmer weather. There is a check valve in the unit. NO expansion tank.0 -

There is a grundfos pump with this, and a valve. Again, no air purger or expansion tank.0
