with the post-game ritual. For those who don't know, mostly everyone dulls their bumps and bruises by using a certain orally-administered general anesthetic, while singing or attempting to sing some very imaginative song parodies- some of which can be found here (Warning: though quite funny, these are NOT "family-friendly" sites!):

Up in Glen Cove at 12 noon
Mr John Hazen White, Taco President, VERY graciously bought the uniforms for the young lads. They will, of course be Taco Green. The Long Island Colts Under 19 Rugby team will is a traveling team and we hope to head North to play other lads. My nephew Bart V is a starter. For those who have not seen rugby played, it is a game like no other, for manly men and in this case lads. Tailgating and a BBQ afterward is a standard. Dress Warm. I will post directions. Mad Dog

Ha ha..................yes, Rugby was the FIRST sport to use
that bumper sticker...although I have seen Hockey adopt it too. I love Hockey but it doesn't measure up to rugby in that sanguinary measure. Actually, it is NOT as bloody or violent as one would assume. I put it this way: It is a rough enough sport that it isn't necessary to use the violence that we often see in other sports such as Football, Hockey, and even soccer. Fist fights are rare on a rugby pitch.....and hanging out with the oppossing team after the match is the norm..there is A TON of mutual respect going around. It is a game with MANY rules and there is a tremendous amount of finesse and skill required to win. Mad Dog

Hay Mad Dog if your boys want a real game they should consider taking on our Montauk Sharks. I believe they have a team with young guys that travel also. If you'd like I'll give you the email address of one who is connected with the Sharks. Have you heard of the Sharks? They play their home games here in East Hampton better known by locals as Bonac. Xavier has one of the oldest rugby programs in The Tristate
their no patsies...however, I will pass the challenge on to Coach Whelan and Royal. Is Danny Wetzel still involved in Montauk rugby? Mad Dog
