in THE MAIN WALL
domestic gas fired ao smith type 50 gal. resid. hot water heater. defective thermocouple. sealed unit w / integral fuse. remedy : replace entire assembly or is it possible to simply replace thermocouple . is fused unit mandatory or will conventional type be acceptable if deluxe type not available.

    Replace it for the recommend or original parts! or i guess you can change to a reg. thermocouple.... but do you want to be responsible for it?

    Make sure that the screen(Intake air) is clean or free of lint or dust and the bottom plate is in place...call AO Smith
