And the lady still doesn't get it. It's a wild animal. When they asked her if she still thinks people should have them as pets she said she would do it again.

Crazy stuff, and so terrible..this happened in my neck of the woods.

My wife works for a labor/discrimination law firm in Stamford, and the hospital that the poor victim was taken to is their client. Would you believe people that work at the hospital plus outside persons have taken pictures of the vic to sell? My wife has been working with her firm's partners in conjunction w/ the hospital to nip this in the bud. Let's see how this pans out. What a world.

Friend of mine has a buddy (cop) that was on the scene.
    The carnage was unspeakable.

My take was it was a wild animal, a ticking bomb.

If the poor woman dies, the chimps owner should be tried for murder. There is no place for people to own wild animals.

    Chimp.

You hit that one. People seem to forget that these creatures are wild animals, unlike dogs or cats that have hundreds, if not thousands of years of domestication.

They are blaming the chimps meds for the attack. My prayers are with the victims. The owner used a kitchen knife on her own chimp to try and stop the attack.
Cost is what you spend , value is what you get.

    Alledgedly

The thing had Lymes disease and was taking meds for that already. I wonder if the Xanax reacted w/ that?

The owner has (had) a towing biz in town. She used to take the chimp w/ her on recoveries. The cops all knew him.

    Primates as pets

I'm not surprised by the attack. It's happened before and will happen again. My mother use to take in "rescue" monkeys when I was a younger lad. She was a pediatric nurse and had a fondness for exotic pets. The monkeys would hit puberty between 3-5 years old and change from a cute animal to a dangerous and unpredictable creature with agressive tendencies. I was bit several times from both a Columbian spider and wooley monkey. Not fun. My Dad used to take the monkeys to a primate sanctuary in Tampa, Fl. when they got too dangerous. Once, I made the trip with my father with 2 monkeys in the back seat of a Cadillac. I can tell you we got some strange looks cruisin' down 95.

    chimp

Just heard on the radio, the lady that was attatcked is recovering from her injuries, lost both eyes, her nose and chin. The owner of the chimp was known to drink wine with the chimp, sleep w/the chimp and take baths w/the chimp.

    permission?

Did you get permission from your wife's law firm to speak out? My guess is no. Help the victim!

    code of conduct

Throw out the wife/law firm connection. The firm could be sanctioned for advertisment. The question stands, "Was there permission?" The wife could get in trouble, I've seen it.
