the air vent on my weil mcclain gold plus 80 sucks in air ....is that normal? i have some problems with my hot water? its heated off of a steam boiler with a mixing valve

    Paul this is not normal. It is doing as it is designed but it should not suck in air when it is running. The hard part of using this tank with a steam system is maintaining the water to the top as it is above the water lind of the boiler , well I am guessing it is. WHere are you and what is your issue you are having with hot water. Pics of piping may help clear up whats going on.
