Pigtail full of water?

Hi all: I just had a new Weil-Mclain EG65 Steam Boiler installed. The Contractors did a great job with both the boiler and the near boiler piping (goodbye copper !!!). We needed to skim a few times so far to remove the oil, but things appear quite clean at this point.

My question is, that during the skimming process, the water level was taken up to the pressure relief valve at one point. Doesn't this fill the pigtail to the pressuretrol, and if so, what is the preferred way to empty it myself? Should I remove the gauge during a cycle to allow it to bleed out or just pull a slight vacuum against it? The gauge has not been registering since the last skim.

Thanks for any help, insight and/or warnings.

Dave

    Pigtail

The pigtail is surpose to fill with water to prevent direct contact with the steam . Your good, keep skimming...
