and you want to file a claim, the deadline is November 19, 2009. If you wait until after that date, you will no longer have a claim against the Goodyear settlement fund. Questions? Call 800-254-9222.

    Does This Include Watts Onix?

    Is that the same thing?

    Thanks

    Not at all

Entran II was a Goodyear product and they arrived at this settlement years ago. I mention it here only because the deadline for filing is approaching. There is no problem with Onyx.

Goodyear/Heatway Entran II hose, (nitrile rubber, not EPDM rubber; manufactured circa 1989-1994)

Onix is an EPDM rubber hose.

    Entron ?

I had Entron 2 installed in floor for radiant heat in 1990.  a few years later we found that the tubing had turned to rock - I was running the water very hot. Heatway paid to have it replaced. They sent the latest iteration of their tubing, at the time, and I had a local firm install it. I have had no problems since then other then I am paranoid to run the water too hot. The only markings on the orange tubing are as follows:

See Boca evaluation services Inc. research Report no. 90-61

    03 14 95 8

Am I OK with this tubing and can I run it as hot as 140 F. ?

    Thank you for any input.

    Treat water at very least

All rubber tubing has issues from early versions of Entran I, II, III and onix of recent years

Our experience over twenty plus years serving many systems is treating water is only way to reduce corrosion and product failure of multiple component in system.

Most all boiler manufacturers will not warranty there boilers if connected to this type of radiant system

Best option is flushing and treating system.

There was an error rendering this rich post.
