Burnham V904A - Leaks

V904A - installed April/May 2000 by respected contractor, maintained by respected contractors ever since - section replaced in 2004 or so at my cost - now rear section is leaking.

Our contractor attempted to replace it and the section delivered would not fit - Burnham says the boiler must have changed, not their fault, replace the boiler. This boiler is less than 9 years old.

Burnham refuses to honor current 10-year warranty for the V9 boilers because our boiler was installed 90 days before that warranty became effective.

- Isn't it reasonable to expect a boiler to last 20 years, or even longer?

- Isn't long-life a key value-add offered by cast iron boilers?

- Isn't it reasonable to ask for a 90-day extension on a warranty, and expect the request to be honored?

I'm a very frustrated small business owner. Who at Burnham should step up and help us?

Thank you,

Steve
