Radiator Air Vents

I replaced all the air vents on every single radiator in the house with adjustable air vents. Majority of the radiators are about the same size with either 11 or 12 sections. Therefore, i have air vents at full opening on all of them regardless of their location.
My question is: If you use too big of an air vent hole for the size of the radiator, does it cause problems like vent hissing or water hammer? Is it bad to vent the radiators too quickly? If so, what is the appropriate size of the air vent hole for a 5 columns and 10-12 sections radiator?
