Munchkin making Sound

Sounds like it could be a bad swirl plate to me especially if it's been gradually getting worse. I'd have one on hand because the best way to check it is to remove the burner assembly, gas valve and inducer all in one piece. It's a 20-30 repair that way. Trying to do it in place is next to impossible. It's probably sucking in exhaust gases which in turn will degrade the swirl plate.

My Munchkin is making a sound
like an airplane with a prop, or a large growling dog. I've left a message with tech support. It started a month ago and has grown louder until I can hear it upstairs. Any input for me until I talk with tech support tomorrow. Model 140M. WW

There was a thread here over the weekend where the inducer impeller bio-degraded.
You could check that.0 -

combustion
Sounds like you may have improper combustion parameters, this will lead to a chugging sound.0 -

If you lost your swirl plate I'll bet you have sidewall venting ? Right , how old is the boiler?0
