Kriebler System

I just purchased an older home that has steam heat.
After some research, I discovered that it is a Kriebler System. Yes, I have one of those hanging in the rafters above my boiler. My boiler is actually 5 years old.

Here is the question...I have approximately 22 radiators in my home. 4 radiators have vents (Hoffman). Why have vents on a Kriebler System? Should I remove the vents and allow all venting from the vacuum/vapor controller?

Anyone who has worked on a Kriebler System please help me.

It's a \"Kriebel\" system

named after its inventor.

It's possible the V/V controller in the rafters is not adjusted correctly, so it's not letting air out like it should. Or the bafflers on those radiators might be stuck, restricting the out-flow of air. We've run into both.

Where are you located? Betcha on the East Coast somewhere, since the Kriebel people were located in Philly......
