Ran across a GB 142 with a fairly crusty heat exchanger the other day. I've heard you use mineral oil but not sure how you go about it. Thanks for any tips.

Chapter 13.10 -
Have a BBQ
Turn gas and electric off
Remove the top and the bottom access panels
Remove the buckets and deteriorating Aluminium
Take a soft brush and brush the Mineral oil onto the Heatexcharger (Think BBQ Chicken wings)
Grab a beer
Fire up the boiler and let it go for about 30 Min.
Turn off the boiler and let it cool down..Trink more Beer but stay within the 2 beer limit.
Open the BBQ, Oh no i mean the Boiler!
And clean out the Derbies kinda like cleaning out you BBQ.
DO NOT CLEAN IT TO GOOD OR EXPOSE SHINY ALUMINUM!
as the Corrosion process will gain on your exchanger!!
Close everything back up.Fire back up and check combustion with a analyzer..
If you did not install it, Charge accordingly because it's not yours..
This can take a couple Hours
Again Think BBQ Hope this helped Richard from Heatmeister..0
