Milinch

if you have all the tables you need for all components expressed in those units.

As you know, the figure represents thousandths of an inch of water column, a fairly narrow scale or high accuracy means of expressing pressure drop. I believe that B&G originated that and I have my notes and hand-outs from 1977 when I first started in this business.

I do not think that I have used it much since. Are you feeling nostalgic? Break out the ol' abacus and slide-rule? :)

But yes, it is another way to express feet of head in very tiny increments.

    Is it -

still a valid method of calculating circulators and pipe sizing?

    yes Brad -

I have all the tables - and they are still published by the UA. Surprisingly - they are part of a steamfitter/pipefitter cirriculum here in Alberta. Interesting method of friction loss. :-) And yes I still have a bamboo core slide rule -
