A better valve like a Hoffman will have a tongue like flapper that sticks into the vent to help drain the condensate from the valve.

Water in radiator valves
What does it mean when some of my valves (not all of them) get water in them after the system has been running. Then, with the water in them, the valve cannot work thus not allowing the radiator to get hot. Thanks Alan0 -
