    1\" to 1 1/4\"

Hello. I am looking to install a steam radiator to a 1 pipe system. The supply pipe is 1" and the radiator tap is 1 1/4". What is the best way to pipe it to get from the 1" to 1 1/4"? Thanks.

  • Ed stated the correct way to do it. I guess you could also use a bell reducer on the 1 inch vertical pipe just before it goes into your 1 1/4 in valve. Using one horizontally leads to water hammer.

    Valve Sizing vs. EDR

Just make sure the 1" valve is the right size for the EDR of the Radiator... water hammer is our enemy!
