Hoffman 1A vent keeps plugging with water

Hello, long time lurker. I installed 2 new Hoffman 1A radiator vents about a month ago. I have had nothing but problems with them since they have been in. I bought 4 and have been changing them out with each other as they plug up. When I remove them they are full of water. I shake it out and reinstall them and they are good for a day or 2. I flushed them out with clean water and I noticed that they don't even drain the water out unless you blow really hard on the vent outlet. It appears that they are plugging up with condensate and once the condensate gets in there it doesn't come back out. Any one have any ideas/experience with this?

I have one radiator that does that exact same thing. It's a 2nd floor rad with a new 1A on it. Maybe it's the pitch of your rad. Check it with a level and repitch if necessary.

    plugged vent

that vent should drain better than that. i would suspect the radiator pitch of being tilted wrongly, or...maybe the vent hole is crooked. screw a long 1/8 nipple in the vent hole and check that with a level. i am also surprised that the vacuum of steam shut down has not drawn all the water back out from the vent.

it does seem as though you have wet steam. what is your pressure, and can you post some pix of the steam piping for us to look at?--nbc
