You should be able to read the micro amps on the ground side by putting your amp meter in the green wire for the control

    Hot surface FSG

Here is a question that has an old guy stumped. When using a FSG (say a S8910U) where the hot surface igniter is also used as the sense instead of an independent flame rod. Is there anyway to check the Microamps like we did on the old flame rods to see if the signal is good? I can not be in series on start up as there is over 4 amps in that circuit that would be going through my meter and I doubt I could switch in to the circuit fast enough. The problem seems to be cold gas on the ground area attenuating the signal. Any thoughts would be welcome as always
