That's like
Looking at a car that runs great but has 250,000 miles on the odometer. My answer would be, "who knows", or "your guess is as good as mine".
If the fire side of the HX was kept clean and if the chemical balance of the water side was checked and adjusted with at least some regularity, you might get 40-50 years out of the old girl. Boilers are not like wives though. It's OK to throw the old one out when it looks a bit used up and buy a new model.
Your boiler is 30 years old and that's probably past what industry average life would be. I would say it's time to be setting aside a little cash every month getting ready for the day when you have to let it go. Do some research here to find out who should do the job and what type of boiler would make the best choice for replacement.0 -
